Finding Fido used IBM Watson’s knowledge graph and the BlueMix Personality Insights API to match adoptable dogs with their future owners. The system crossed analysis of pet and breed descriptions with a text analysis of the user’s own writing to produce an “EQ” match between dog and human.

Built in a weekend with Cathy Schlessinger. The Watson Personality Insights API was a strange thing to point at a tweet history, but it produced a result, and the result was funnier and more accurate than any of us expected. Hackathon projects teach you what you can build when you give yourself permission to not be precious.
